Sorry Earth

Oh sorry Earth 
How dire thy time
Once beautiful and thriving 
now polluted and toxic
A forever promised land
flourishing home for all
resourceful and rich provider
today foolishly abused and wasted
What is this senseless madness?
where mindless wants for today
spill upon all needs of tomorrow
and become deaf to the cries 
of those yet to be conceived
Selfish and greedy
corrupting the natural order
where sad soil weeps for
its vital nourishment
Our Air waning as the
trees disappear
felled with roots crushed to extinction
no seeds to sow only
barrenness to see
That with no action changed
will become a terminal destruction
to our once miraculous planet
Oh beautiful Earth'
not deserving of flawed humanity
destined to become a dying shell
to all our failings
And the swan song rising
echoes of todays voices
will be
