Eternal Longing

While the moon lures the rough waves of the sea,

Tides start to envelop the pebbled shore.

Eternal tides crash within part of me,

Intense emotions developing more,

Pulling at the thin frail strings of my heart.

My love has been captured, stolen by you

Like a beautiful piece of sweet, fine art.

Yet I conceal this passion for thee too,

Frightened I am not worthy of your love,

Longing for your genuine affection.

Praying that there is a sign from god above,

Praying I don't face painful rejection.

But I know that you can never be mine,

I think of you every time the moon shines.
