Eternal Now

today is my birthday
I do not feel any older
Nor do I feel younger
Or even an age at all
I am just me
The same sense of self I recallEt
From earliest memory on
The familiar voice outlining events
Commenting on things
Questioning and theorizing
The one that has always been there
I find this a perpetual now
This even was a future time a years ago
A day ago or a week ago
But to me in my ongoing self
It is all today
The eternal now of me
