A RIVER'S EBB 
From humble worm, a miracle is wrought,
A filament both fragile and so fine,
With patient art, a silken grace is caught,
A thread that holds a secret, soft design.
The dyer's art then bathes it in the sun,
In hues of rose and deepest indigo,
A shimmering cascade, its journey run,
A river's ebb, a silent, tranquil flow.
It drapes the form with elegance and light,
A second skin, a whisper on the breeze,
It catches every fleeting ray of light,
And promises the heart a moment's ease.
For in its folds, a poet's heart can sing,
The softness that a touch of silk can bring.
