Even Kings

Even Kings

Well lately -

I've been crying in my sleep.

Laughing at my dreams when I'm awake -

(I'm never quite awake).

Seems everyone is lonely,

everyone is homeless in the end.

In the end.

Well lately -

Seems everyone is starving.

Sick and tired of eating only cake!

The monarchy just takes -

(Striping all the flesh of those they'd saved).

They build their palaces of bone.

Sitting upon thrones, yet all alone.

Seems everyone is lonely,

even Kings are homeless in the end -

Crying in their sleep.

Laughing at their dreams when they're awake -

(They're never quite awake).

Drowning in their pools wrought from dreams -

Seems everyone is lonely!

Even Kings are homeless in the end.

It never ends.
