EVENING LIGHT

EVENING  LIGHT

You wondered what it would be like to make love,
perhaps check the coast is clear - send out a dove,
this advance thinking was the spiritual core of life,
I could change the colours with a palette knife.

We walked and walked, time would last forever,
engineered euphoria with all that beautiful weather,
shadows on the boardwalk matched shapes in mind,
transient laughter rippled along just like one kind.

You scuffed stones to see what path they would take,
hung on to sweetness, just in case you might wake;
no need to worry, onlly you knew there was no hurry,
measured time took you thro' nice layers of mystery.

Then we knew what it was like to make great love,
we had been guided thro' light from heaven above.
