EVENTIDE

It was so difficult to focus on work today
My mind was all over the place
The tiredness of the night
Rolled out of bed with me
And the cares of life, won't let me be
But somehow, someway, I've made it through
And as the sun fades
Into the grey darkness of eventide
I find myself sitting on my favorite rock
Overlooking the sea
The freshness of the salty air
Steadily strokes my face
And with each passing wave
Negative thoughts and cumbersome feelings
Were magically erased
Nothing like your quiet place
To expand your mind
Moving pass the hypothetical
Into the arms of the divine
Hours rolled by without a thought
And soon the moon
Was kissing the velvet sky
As the North Star declares
It's distinctive mark
And for those fleeting moments
Nature took a hold of my soul
And my entire being was granted new life
In the shadow and comfort of eventide.
