" EVERGREEN "

" EVERGREEN "

Through the clean-clipped rows of mazes and myrtle,
I feel the heart of nature in the poetry of seeds and dirt,
Springing, upwards as if singing, the praises of her majesty
The passionate pundits impetus, glowing in evergreens
For it's the aged gardener's eyes, that have only ever seen
The, inherent beauty, in retaining usefulness
Like newborn foliage dreaming
Of remaining, ever green...

On some fond breast, an aging couples souls rely
On the milk from lessons learned, and promises kept with pride
Having looked so very deeply, and not just looked, but seen
The value in beauty bursting, through wrinkled evergreens
Their years spelled, "by the unlettered muse"
And not the churchyard elegy
That Thomas Gray wrote of,
But implied in living evergreen...

Through clean-clipped rows of hedges, and life's mystical gardens
I've learned the heart of nature, through the poetry I've sparred in
Bleeding music into eternity, and respect into aging queens
And the nobility in the tallest, of the forest's Evergreen...

Hi  Tony  I always love your poems about
nature you are able to bring even the smallest nook
and cranny of the  forest or garden or majesty of the trees
as the Evergreen here alive, To see beauty that is all around us
and capture it and write about it as you do has to be a god given gift
and you give that gift right back to us the readers by sharing it
with us, I will read Thomas Grey`s elegy too.
This poem in my eyes is stunning My friend

My Dear Tony,

Such a beautiful melody, sung by the "Barbra Streisand" of poetry, Tony Taylor.  Its words captivating.  Its depths uncharted.  Its content far surpassing a "Thomas Gray Elegy".  The tallest of the forests evergreen, dwarfed by the height of your genius.

Peace, Love and Rockets, Brother Poet,
