Everlasting Grace
I long to be with youΒ
In a warm embrace
Our bodies intertwinedΒ
In everlasting grace.Β
Our eyes gazing
With love in their depths
Yours are entrancing
Glistening like you've freshly wept.
Your eyes
Blue like the ocean
Kind and wise
Brimming with emotion.
Your voice
Soft like cotton
Gentle as the breeze
Not easily forgotten.
Your lips
Damp and pink
Making playful quips
You'd give a slight wink.Β
I long to kiss those lips
They look soft and sweet
I'd take you in my grip
And taste the delicate treat.Β
Savoring your every touch
Your arms around my waist
I'd look up at you
And memorize that beautiful face.Β

The first stanza came to me out of the blue before I went to bed the other night and I had to write it down and that one stanza ledΒ to a work I'm immensely proud of. I'm delighted you enjoyed it! :)

yeah, I agree with T, Lily, your phrasing is superb, very subtle approach you have with description (intentional or not) you imply and invite the reader's imagination to take the baton (could be dangerous on a poetry site, lol) Β anyway, you're obviously pretty good at writing poetry, good read, tribute
Thank you! I don't know if it's intentional or not either. My poems tend to be more subtle then the stories I write. It all depends on the topic for me as well. This was actually a poem I wrote directly from my heart thinking about someone. I am glad you enjoyed it!Β
