Evermore

Under the cloak of silent night,
Muffled shrieks, loss of sight,
Sworn to secrecy by the mystic moon,
We walked in beat of a muted croon.
Remember no more!

Guided by the laudanum man,
Away we went from thy covenant clan,
With the kiss of perpetual lies,
We continued our journey under judgeful eyes.
Remember no more!

Betrayal lain in the seeds of truth,
Under Erebus's topless roof,
More and more we seemed to tred,
The somber waters of the sea of dead.
Remember no more!

Screams of sorrow, shrieks of pain,
A starless night with waterless rain,
Outstretched hands that cannot be reached,
Cling to thresholds where trust was breached.
Remember no more!

A mother and her newborn son,
Two gentle hearts to be won,
Left in nightmares on this night,
When once I wished I had no sight.
Remember no more!

Tiny hands and tiny face,
A fathomless beauty and wondrous grace,
Cloaked in red,
Then sent to bed.
Remember evermore.
