Poem -

Everything Is An Echo

Everything Is An Echo

Read and re read the words
forget and consign them,
bury them
where light will never find them
Maybe in a distant dream those words will seem familiar,
 yet lost
Lost in the sea of forgotten words, emotions and love.
Things that,momentarily,were all encompassing,
of meaning to the writer,
the life blood of imagination
Emotions tied to the words like shackles of pain
..or joy
Never spoken with voice but held in the heart
Now consigned to the deepest cavern
To rest undisturbed, in unrequited solitude
Until perhaps,a gentle breath releases the words
And the sounds fills the empty void
And like a moment of rebirth, once again your words can be heard
Loud and with passion because
words never truly die and ultimately
everything
is an echo.

I understand  exactly what you are saying..words can hold so much meaning  and yet can be so easily forgotten...but like an echo they CAN be revived and come back to remind  us..I love this for it’s message..lovely work Lodi!

Hi Iodigiana, this is such a gentle and beautiful poem, your words, well rested have come to life like a dormant volcano, lighting up the sky.

I see them, and hear them, I'll read them over and over, aloud so that a connection will weld my frequency to yours and all those who do the same, because your words are you and you are powerful.

Thanks for sharing.

I am never sure  how to respond..I am sometimes so surprised with the positive comments that other wonderful writers , such as yourself, give me that I am a little speechless...I try to speak from that place within, that is the voicebox of who we are but the words are not always exactly right..so when I write something that I think is just what I am trying to say ..and others understand it also ..then I am totally amazed! Thank you so much for your lovely words Gerard. Lodigiana x

HI Lodigiana.  Words immortalize your thoughts and can come back to haunt us later....especially when we write them down and they stay.  I like the idea of them coming back like an echo.  Your words are always effective in creating emotional integrity or profound reflection to take to heart.  I appreciate that talent you have to do that.  Thank you for sharing. xo ;)

Words are such a powerful tool..for good and evil..sometimes we wish that they would be remembered always and at other times pray they will be forgotten quickly....but either way the words are always there. Thank you so much Cherie always love your comments. Lodigiana xx
