Everywhere II

Everywhere II

Burning
Flying
Slowly
Dying

Consuming wood and air
Nothing if not fair
Always willing to share
And spread its blaze
Some here, some there
Till fire burns most everywhere

Burning
Flying
Slowly
Dying

Heat is
Thriving
Not
Surviving

Exploding with a flair
Sends sparks into the air
To fly to some elsewhere
And spread its blaze
Some here, some there
Till fire burns most everywhere

And warriors rush
To quell the flames
With weapons wet
Not meant to maim

They face off with
The burning beast
That bays at its
Green leafy feast

And when it leaves
The ground’s bereft
Of life and growth
There’s nothing left
