Evie-Lilly; The Shooting Star
Evie-Lilly is one beautiful little shooting star.
Evie-Lilly's had a tough fight, but she's gotten so far.
Born on the 27th February 2013, with a big mop of hair
Evie-Lilly never got hungry and it gave her family a scare.
7th April 2013, Evie-Lilly went for a heart scan.
This is where her battle with life began.
They found a big open duct, her little heart was broke.
Poor Evie-Lilly had also suffered from a stroke.
Evie-Lilly had suffered brain damage, two parts were affected.
Trouble with sight and her movement was suspected.
Evie-Lilly spent weeks of her life on tubes andĀ been sedated.
Whilst Mummy and Daddy stayed by her side, they waited and waited.
Test's and scans here and there, everything was such a muddle.
Mummy was eager to finally be able to give her beautiful Evie a cuddle.
Eventually, Evie-Lilly could go on her first walk in weeks.
She was allowed to get some air to them chubby little cheeks.
Evie-Lilly's first smile was whilst laid in her hospital bed.
Problems with her throat means she is still tube fed.
Evie-Lilly spent 3 months before she was allowed out.
Glad to be home, but it's still hard to take Evie-Lilly out and about.
See Evie-Lilly's silly stomach, can sometimes make her choke.
But Evie-Lilly's made amazing progress, but there's always fear of a stroke.
But good news is Evie-Lilly can definatley hear!
Evie-Lilly's condition won't one day just disappear.
But every now and Evie-Lilly reaches a new milestone.
What amazing progress beautiful Evie-Lilly has shown.
When she tries to laugh, Evie-Lilly's big eyes laugh too.
Mummy and Daddy, Evie-Lilly really is a credit to you.
Keep fighting Evie-Lilly, you little shooting star.
You're fights been hard beautiful, but you've gotten so far!
I've been following Evie-Lilly's progress from some time now, and
thought it was about time this little girl got recognized for the fight
she has been going through. I've wrote a poem for Evie-Lilly that shows
part of her story, however if you would like to read her full story,
here is the link to her fund raising site where her mummy has been
working hard to raise money for sensory and special equipment :) If I'm
lucky enough to come any place in the January competition the money will
be donated to Evie :)Ā Hope you Enjoyed!
