Exorcist

Lingering macabre in darkness festers,
Unseen entities, oppression of jesters.
Creaking of floorboards, whispers are near,
Break down and suffering, reduced to tears.
Reflections smile all the while lured in,
Malice in eyes and sinister grin.
Limbs lost to a mysterious puppeteer,
Breath gives out, consumed by fears.
Menace of the shadows screeching strange calls,
Hanging upside down, climbing the walls.
Hisses and growls, possessed to attain,
Cause pain to others where others would refrain.
Its attention distracted, swoops to the floor,
A man in all black awaits behind the door.
White collar, bible, he leans on his staff,
He’s arrived to diminish and silence its laugh.

This is friggin' excellent writing!!...... to bring, in a poetic fashion, the vivid imagery of exorcism to life is a daunting task that you have accomplished brilliantly here......I mean that in the creative sense of it!!..... you have created phrasing that sears its way into the readers minds eye...... and delivered it with room enough for their own experience, of the subject matter, to meld into the words you've so intelligently crafted!!.....l have to conclude that this may the very best poem I have ever read where this subject matter is concerned!!......PINNED!!......fantastic work dear poet brother!!.... Love your style.......another write with smokin' grooves!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo ?✴❤

Delightfully dark, Simon! I've always had an obsession with exorcisms and possessions. This is truly brilliant!
