Expected

Words can cut like knives
leaving such a bloody mess
Overthinking, overanalyzing
Causing myself too much stress
He nearly left, nearly said goodbye
he had a whole day, his time to decide
And as I waited, I honestly wanted to die

My apologies are often accepted
You take all the pain, But I know deep down,
I’m not what you expected
