Extinct

Extinct

A fertile planet once roamed by kings,Β
Deciduous forest & vast lush green,Β
Abode to giants & all great things,Β
Audience to light, forlorn to screen.Β

With indomitable force it hit so fast,Β
Hurtling rock, like a blanket strewn,Β
An impenetrable cloud swiftly cast,Β
All life that shook the earth were doomed.Β

Monumental penumbra enveloped terrain,Β
Billows of ash & debris consumed,Β
Creeping twilight eclipsed all grain,Β
Asphyxiated life abruptly entombed.Β

The titans that were, perished for good,Β
A rock, just six miles wide had hit,Β
The rain fell hard into acidic mud,Β
A decibel roar, buried life in hot grit.Β
