Poem -

Façade

Its funny what perception changes
Which side you let be known
How different you are around me
This bitter side you've shown
Is it me who makes you act like this?
It's only behind closed doors
Is it me who makes you cut me down?
It's only when we're alone.

The condemning, hatred knife still twists
What cannot be unwound
"Your mother's always smiling"
The truth cannot be found
Smiles hide what lies inside
Yearning to escape
Should I be justified
To hate your real side?

Smile along
ignore the growing sound
It's beginning to belong
It's become so finely timed
The facade won't last much longer
A wish -no a dream
I cannot conquer
I'm still unable to scream.
