FADED GLORY
You are not your own

How beautiful to the eyes was the butterflyĀ
The wind lifted its wingsĀ
And the flowers of the garden began to singĀ
Who is like the butterfly in all the worldĀ
From the state of a caterpillar, he arose
No longer subdued in the dust of the groundĀ
Effortlessly he flew across the face of the earth
Gliding through space in a spiritual danceĀ
His colors and markings, leave all minds in a trance
He had the confidence of the eagle's heart
With the vision of an owl, he mastered the dark
Until one day his reflection was seen in a glass
Pride filled his heart and his glory faded fastĀ
Mighty men have fallen from heavenly grace
When pride filled their heartsĀ
Forgetting the One that had brought themĀ
To that lofty placeĀ
Remember your redeemer and the source of your strengthĀ
It is He that sustains youĀ
So from pride, you must repent.
Wilford Barker.
