FAIRNESS IN WAR AND HATE

To pin it down is hard to do
If you set the rules all seems true
The parameters can be variable
With those being led often feeling blue
It can develop a life of its own
And always comes back to haunt you

A sense of worth can lead to autocracy
Where innate rights 
Leave no room for manoeuvre
In situations where your wants must be king

Setting the rules from the outset
Does not mean smooth sailing
Wants and needs do change
Causing the past to go up in flames

The debate can get bloodied by historical analysis
The here and now situation must be drenched in the past
Everyone can claim almost
All of the prize
Just by being the first to arrive

Emotions are flammable
Hurt is caustic and reactionary
All the while the original wants are forgotten

Spite will overwhelm those that brood
The ill-will that consumes them
Is their best friend
No Solomon from either side
Will rear his sensible head
Negotiations at this stage only insult the dead

Wrongs that leave all in a rage
Will consume generations
That will not understand why they hate
Causing more blood to be shed
At an alarming rate

Those that muster the faithful
Are hypocrites without a disguise
They lead those who seldom ever want to be free
And create rules that bolster their irresponsibility

This din of compliance creates such a dismal song
Where fraternity cannot protect
Those that wish to do no harm
From fanatics whose rhetoric
Is mightier than truths already found

The spoils of conquest
Post or pre- war are only held for a while
The ignorance and insensitivity
That caused this ownership change
Only creates martyrs among those fed distilled hate
Who from babes know their fate is
To fight for prides sake

One day peace will never reign
Today all the land will be ruined
By those pandering to machismo’s pangs
All and sundry will go out with a bang
A battle royal where all have bloodied hands
