faith

faith

the drizzle we don't see 
doesn’t get us wet, that is said
not that it is not cold
not that it doesn’t hurt our faces or 
our need to carry on 
what the eye doesn't see
the heart doesn't grieve over
 
I have a mark on my nose 
from all the glasses I've worn 
since I was a child
sometimes it is a relief 
not to strain my eyes to see 
what they cannot
I close them 
to feel the drizzle or
the warmth of the sun over my face 
to feed my spirit with that 
I cannot see 
but feel
