Faith

Eidolon of faith and promise,
Inked upon a common scribe,
Words that offer heaven and solace,
Commonality in the way we describe.

Stories of the one and only,
Such grandeur of hope and meaning,
Overwhelmed by his love and all things holy,
It's hard to ignore this feeling.

Majority on principle lead a normal life,
Cast sin after sin and redeem,
Though few try to live by the book and strive, 
Some question is all is it seems?

Are we all meant for something grand?
Are our lives as clear as they are?
Will our footprints merely ripple away like the sand?
Or will we rest near yet far?
