Fall

Fall

What used to be so vibrant

What once replete with living

Now starved of nutrition

Now withers, sallow, sick

Turns down its squalid head

Turns meek, descends to earth

Blown backward and forth

Blown by daunting winds

Finds residual rest

Finds demise and decay

Last thought would be

Last time I saw you

Life is funny. It is never the same for anyone. You look at fall and see wither and decay. I look and see the beginning of new life. I understand that you are relating this to someone not there and I see the pain of loss. Yet with all loss is something gained. This is a very nice poem and it made me think! Good poems do that! Good job, Anthony
