The fallen ~ in memory of Lee Rigby

The fallen ~ in memory of Lee Rigby

The fallen, they lay weak
Upon the battleground, body
Upon body,
Skins touching in memory
Of the days past

O Lord, these soldiers,
They are done by battle
Bayonets have pierced their hearts,
Their souls and their children
Lay in the tears of the River Jordan

I am covered in bodies
The stench smothers
Where I lay, the dust
And the worms rejoice
For here are we, the fallen

Jai,
Fallen only to be risen once again in the promised land of milk and honey and where no pain dares to dwell. This young man is home now and the promise his savior made to him, he has forever kept...Great poem and epitaph for all our fallen soldiers, yet never to be forgotten by known...

Great job Jai,

this young man is equal to hate in my country what he has done (not him) but his soldiers  in irelands long history. but like i said on rachels  poem .as a human being  hacked alive in front of a nation is disgusting . im not bitter ,times have to move on for peace .and it was cowardly what they did .if it was my son  id forget about different grievances in this instance . he did not deserve to die that way .he deserved to die like a soldier .in war. like they all do . but this caught my heart as a mother !

Tina I see, in your country his kind

has caused harm...

Your comment has merit.

As for Lee the citizen it's tragic,

soldiers are fodder, whichever uniform

they wear, the state kills them,

for nations good. Mother mourns.

Thank you for highly relevant comments.

Luv Jai :)

A soldier's life is such a tough one Jai when they are on the battlefield, but surely not on the streets of England!!!  Your poem in honour of a soldier's life is nicely penned and a fitting tribute to this poor soldier! Nice job :)
