THE FALLEN SNOW ANGEL

On a cold and bitter morning
Whilst the winter chill set in
Lurking in the undergrowth
An evil; knowing grin
His presence there was no mistake
He knew this place so well
Watching; waiting; salivating
Cast beneath the infant’s spell
He loved to watch the children play
It filled his heart with glee
He’d observed and waited far too long
Their friend he’d like to be!!!
The beauty of the snow so bright
That glistened in the sun
A winter fest of hellish games
And those games ... they were such fun!!
A little boy soon caught his eye
A devilish little mite
He looked a little troubled
He would help him with his plight!!
So he waited for the moment
When this boy ran down the path
Running off to get his ball
He could hear him squeal and laugh!
The excitement was now palpable
It welled from deep inside
And hit the coldness of the air
In gasps of snivelling pride
Like a fox sprung on a chicken
He grabbed his helpless prey
Took him out with such a hellish punch
No words were left to say!
The poor boy knocked out cold
Like the snow in which he lay
Not a single glimmer of movement
This is where this boy would stay!
The body he placed neatly
With his arms and legs outstretched
He sniggered and he clasped his hands
Knowing what he would do next
The blade with which he stabbed him
Was now bent and of no use
Shredded this boy’s body
It couldn’t take all the abuse
The blood it flowed into the snow
Like strawberry tinted slush
Crimson was this little boy
His body turned to mush
But the sick twist was his vision
Of the childhood act he did
Waved the little arms and legs about
Like making snow angels as a kid
The picture of pure beauty
Set before him was too much
He felt such mass accomplishment
He just stared, but didn’t touch
This Immaculate conception
Of a plan he thought out well
Gift wrapped in crisp white heaven
A fallen snow angel from hell.......
