Fallen Verses

I saw beauty’s soul, and something cried love. She stands,
Clad with sky; and she kneels, drenched in Ghost. Here’s
A mosaic, my love: death has fallen. I drew a cross, and heart
Cried: I drew a smile, and heart died. What resurrection,
The wettest glory; and what Scripture: such a glow; and she
Fetters sin, a fervent cloud; and such the light, verboten
Wind. I fathom so little; and she harkens, such voice. Dig a
Furrow, my soul; and light a candle, my mind; for season dry,
The cry of doves; and virtue wet, a thirst for sin. My attic
Fever, a tallith shrine; and risen beaut, a sun to shine. Forgive
The fear, my tear agog; and feel the pulse, my ghost aflame;
For fervid worth, beauty’s star; and anagogic, every scar.
The door is glass, a glinted rose; and starlit skies, a spirit’s soul;
And gorgeous flame, a fallen pearl.Â
