Falling Apart at The Seams

Falling Apart at The Seams

Under a navy colored blanket
with tiny holes pricked into it
revealing the light beyond
from those holes, light does emit.

All of us together wrapped up
in this blanket bound tightly
we cannot cooperate
not even slightly.

Our infinitesimal quarrels
are further ripping these holes
as we push and pull and fight
and drive apart our souls.

What happens when we finally do it?
When we finally rip it open?
Not enough needles and thread
to fix this amount of broken.
