Falsify

What happened to you?
Once a great
Once the greatest
Now you sit with nothing, no one around you
Alone in a corner
Tired, battered and beaten
Cold and shrivelled up on the floor
Like a baby, you’ve gone backwards
What happened here?
So full of promise
So full of everything that was good and great
And now you lie helpless
Pushed out by the world
Sitting on the edge of existence
And they don’t even cry
They don’t even mourn your loss
Nobody seeks to find you
Nobody seeks to protect you
You have no place anymore
You’re not embraced
You’re not welcome
It takes an age for you to ever get out in the open
And when you’re there the light burns
Your presence offends
Like some desolate tramp
Like some homeless outcast
But it’s not your fault
You’re good and they just don’t understand
Or maybe they just don’t want to
All I can do is listen to you
I don’t know how else to help you
I’m not sure where you belong anymore
What happened to you?
We’ll never know
All I can tell you is there’s still a few who will look after you

Such a sorrowful write Marc, would have liked to know why if there is a story behind this, a sad tale! Â Liked the style of your write here. Â Nice job, a vote from me :)
Thanks Rachel. It's not based on any particular story. Just rolled with my imagination and tried to personify the concept of truth in modern times.
Imagination is a great tool, and when it is deemed as potentially a true story for me you have conveyed the emotion very well. Â Liked the concept :)
This is beautifulÂ
