When did we lose the focus? the plot?
Lost emotion and goodnessÂ
We shed the lot.
Community is but a foreign concept
Every man for himself
A helping hand?
Nay, a hidden agenda.
The fabric of society held together feebly by tweets and likes
And facebook pokes-
Didnt you know?
Sending letters is a thing of the past
Nothing lasts.
A flash in the pan
A one night stand
Flick right if you dare
Find a match then and there.
So false, so superficial
So hesitant to make things official.
Love is rare
Lust is abundant
Commitment and marriageÂ
A sacrament reduntant.
It saddens my heart
It weights heav-i-ly
The flaws of today
There are so many.
I don't belong here-
Nor do you
We've been robbed in the nightÂ
Of our home and the truth.
