Farewell for now

The light peeped in through the window and swept across her face

So peaceful she was as she lay there in this to familiar place

I watched her and wished for the days gone bye 

Days full if story's and laughter 

It took Everything in me to stand by her bed,and reluctantly hold back that cry

She still had her fiery red hair although her bones where old and frail, her body so small her skin so pail ..her soul weakened and thirsty for freedom

But it was in her to fight 

It was in her to be strong 

I cried for her to stay I know that was wrong!

Her soul was tired but my heart wanted more 

I could hardly pick myself up from the floor 

It happened she left  us my grandmother grew her wings 

But strangely instead of sadness 

And much to my surprise

It was as if she left me with the gift ,to see life through her eyes

She was fun loving and carefree 

Seen beauty in the most simple things

And there's not a day that goes bye  I don't think of your beautiful wings

Where are you now?

How do you feel?

One more day I'd love to steal

Right back from the past when I had you here 

But I do feel your presence 

I do feel you near 

So I thank you for everything you've given to me

From the time I was an infant up on your knee 

I'll miss you forever I'm not going to lie

And when I do I'll look up to the sky 

And know that your happy and know that your free

And take comfort in the fact that you'll always be

Forever my guide and that sweet bird who sings 

And I'll giggle at how you'll use those wings

So I won't say goodbye,I'll say farewell for now

I'll live life in your memory ,because you showed me how

To live each day even better than the one before

That love never gets empty there's always more

So farewell my dear grandmother spread your wings and take flight

Don't worry for me I'll be alright 

I'll be strong like you thought me 

I was thought by the best 

I ask you to fly now you're soul needs to rest

Know that in my heart you'll forever stay dear 

I'll always feel you beside me and know that your near 

So have fun now and blossom in that sky above

And I'll be forever grateful for your unconditional love
