Poem -

Fatal Hope

Hope leaves a metallic taste
in my mouth like dripping blood
from my tongue, that's been lashed
by words not meant.
Words, which are seemingly harmless,
but when spoken with treacherous lips
inflict a fatal poison.
This poison, rapidly burns through veins
not meant to carry such pains, but
seem to endure the gravity of this false hope.
What false hope could weave poison
through weakened veins
and eat away at a tender heart?
LOVE!

Quite the theory you've espoused
Love and hope in the heart are housed
While hope flows freely thru each vein
Love must be discovered like faith, through pain

A very novel premiss. Thank you kindly

I don’t know how I should feel, hopeful for a new day or fear for the next day. Absolutely beautiful!
