Fate Of The Dragonrider

Fate Of The Dragonrider

The Dragonrider scanned the valley below,
High above the Ancient Wood, where the folk don't go,
He'd been flying for hours, that was his plan,
He is searching this place, for a single man.

Something caught his eye, as he flew as low as he could,
Some six or seven Centaurs were dashing through the wood,
Clearly startled by the dragon, who returned to the sky,
They couldn't take on this beast, they didnt want to die.

All of a sudden, the dragon felt fear,Β
He became uneasy, he knew the man was near,Β
The Dragonrider felt it, and urged him to dive,
This man they search is deadly, he hopes that he'd survive.

In the dive the Dragonrider saw him, his glowing red eyes,
The art of stealth all but blown, he lost the element of surprise,
But he kept on, with the dive, the dragons neck started glowing,
It's hard to breathe fire, without the man knowing.

The man was an evil mage, that was consumed by hate,
Straight from the bowels of hell, never to negotiate,
Flames burst out of the dragon, in an attempt to neutralize,
But the mage had other plans, you could see it in his eyes

The mage whispered a spell, and a blue orb covered him,
The flames bounced all around the orb, but never within,
The dragon swooped past, setting up for another run,
The Dragonrider held on tight, this wasn't going to be fun.

The dragon shot some fire balls, and the mage magicked a shield,
The mage had the answers, he simply would not yield,
The mage shot a bolt, as the dragon flew past
The bolt followed the dragon, then hit with a blast.

The dragon crashed down, and the rider went flying,
Then smashed into a stump, and there he was lying,
But he got himself up, drew his sword at the ready,
The crash didn't affect him, his stance still looked steady.

The mage stared at the rider, and laughed at what he saw,
The rider was still alive, and he wanted more,
The mage whispered a spell, magic replied to his demands,
The mage started closing, lightning danced around his hands.

Part 2

Horns sounded close, as the mage looked around,
Then all of a sudden, he felt vibrations on the ground,
The horns were even louder, the rider saw his rage,
As fifty Centaurs emerged, and surrounded the mage.

The mage's lightning faded, as a new spell was cast,
But this one was different, even louder than the last,
His voice grew even louder, until it was a yell,
Five dragons were inbound, as if sent from hell.

They were huge with black scales, mouths filled with fire,
With these legendary beasts, the rider knew it was dire,
He looked back to see, his dragon wasn't there,
Relieved he was not dead, five to one though, not fair.

The Centaurs scattered, then at full trot attacked the mage,
Swords swinging and hooves stomping, he was a rat in a cage,
But the mage ducked and weaved, shooting lightning at them,
He was determined to win, determined to kill 'em.

The black dragon's were looming, not far away now,
The Dragonrider ran at the mage, through the Centaurs somehow,
The mage dodging blows, cast another magic spell,
A forcefield as such, enough to repel.

The mage continued whispering, then pointed all around,
A blue blast ignited, throwing everyone to the ground,
Everyone in the radius, was dazed and in shock,
The mage pointed at the five dragons, as if as to mock.

The Dragonrider still floored, he looked to the sky,
He couldn't beat the mage today, and didn't know why,
And just when he thought, he'd die with a zap,
He closed his eyes briefly, then he heard a huge snap.

The five dragons hovered, he could feel their wing gust,
Their fires extinguished, and they then turned to dust,
The Centaurs were all around, so the Dragonrider looked underneath,
He could see the mage's robes, sticking out from his dragon's teeth.

Gulp went the mage, as his dragon ate him,
The Dragonrider felt his wounds now, and everything went dim,
Next thing he knew, everything had turned black,
When he came to, he was in his saddle, on the dragon's back.
