Fatherhood, feelings and fear

I've created, raised, and nurtured
Four new human lives
To be thier unsung hero
I will always aim to strive.
My love divides between them
Along with all my heart
Splitting me in pieces
Like a fraction of a part.
Together we are whole
Again
Bonded and complete
I know that they all feel the same
The moment that we meet.
With heartfelt hugs
And special looks
And laughter all the while
Like a cat that got the cream
I cannot help but smile.
The pride inside
I cannot hide
Neither can I quantify
The greatest of all my achievements
Right before my eyes.
Now I'm just a visitor
Within thier growing lives
I'm constantly rebuilding
And making up lost time.
I fear that they may grow apart
From me without a sound
Are they being influenced?
When I am not around.

Thank you so much Tony! I wrote this from the heart, while thinking of my girls, so the emotion wrote itself really. I just made it rhyme, lol! I'm thrilled you liked it enough to comment and vote for it though. Your comments are always so honest, descriptive, supportive and kind, of which I am truly grateful!
much love.
