Fear of the Night

The Fear of the Night doesn't hang in the night sky.
No, the Fear of the Night lay in the fate of the unknown.
A mad leap into darkness.
A manic cry of desperation.
A phobia of what will never be found
or
what is found and finds its place,
only to leave an empty space.

A neglected, lonely shell
that quivers at the sight
of a different, darker fear-filled night.
