Fear of the dark

Fear of the dark

Can you see the shadows in the dark,
Can you hear the whispers in the silence,
Can you feel the fear grow stronger.

As your eyes grow wider,
Your hair stands up,
Your body is now so tense,
Your body is now frozen,
As you tremble in fear.

The shadow grows bigger,
The shadow is so close,
The whisper is no longer a whisper,
The whisper is now a voice.

The shadow is now beside you,
You can feel its breath,
Your body is still so frozen,
From the fear you feel so deeply.

Second feel like minutes,
Minutes feel like hours,
The shadow dare not move,
Only to feed its hunger,
The hunger comes from fear.

The shadow is now laughing,
As you try to scream,
Only to find no voice,
The voice that once was there.

The shadow now moves swiftly,
Across the hardwood floor,
But not without saying,
I will see you again here soon.

Okay, so I obviously opted for something dark and eerie from your portfolio rather than romantic.
I don't dwell too much on matters of the heart, not since my wife of twenty-two-years up and walked away from our marriage without so much as looking back.
Oh, but when I receive royalties or payment from something I've written and had published, she's the first one to have her hand out.
Go figure...
Anyhow, enough about that.

The shadow is now laughing,
As you try to scream,
Only to find no voice,
The voice that once was there.
---
The shadow now moves swiftly,
Across the hardwood floor,
But not without saying,
I will see you again here soon.

I believe I know of this shadowy specter of whom you write.
I've seen it several times in my dreams.
Excellent — I pinned this.

Oh yes I have many different sides of me. Something pops in my head so I just jot it down. However this shadow creature has many forms and has haunted me for many years even when I cannot see him I can feel his presences around me he is full of anger which I can't explain maybe he is part of a past life of mine. Either way he is the reason I can't sleep in complete darkness and without sound for it starts with a whisper so I try to drown him out but even at that sometimes that don't stop him. I tend to write about him late at night.
I'm sorry about you wife that truly sucks. For most my writing it is feelings from my heart for I feel my marriage is falling apart, for which "It's on a reflection" that came to mind. As for the "Unspoken Vows" I have no clue where that came from I don't know if it's the future that still has to come.
