FEELINGS

FEELINGS

We know all about your pain and confusion and your fear

That nobody cares that your end is near.

But nurses are people with feelings as well

When we`re all together you`ll often hear us tell

Of the sweetest old gran in the end bed

Or the lovely old dad and the things that he`s said.

We work with compassion and love

We also feel sad

When we think of your loneliness now

And the life that you had.

When the time comes for you to depart

We`re left behind with an ache in our hearts.

What do we see?

You often ask!

What do we see?

When we look at thee?

It may seem uncaring if we hurry or fuss

But we have so many patients and there are too few of us.

We need more time to sit by your side

To hold your hand and talk

To bathe you

To feed you

To help you to walk.

To listen as you tell of your lives and the things that you`ve done

All about your childhood, your daughter, your son.

But time is against us and there`s so much to do

Patients too many

And nurses too few.

It`s painful to see you so sad and alone

With nobody taking a little time to visit

And no friends of your own.

When you finally sleep that long sleep

With no more worry or care

There are still many more who need us there.

So please understand if we hurry or fuss

There are so many of you and too few of us.

G xx

I know Debs and they work hard and don`t get paid enough for it either. I`ve known a lot of nurses who work two jobs just to stay above the poverty line and that`s just shameful for the government of this country isn`t is sweetie? I`m so proud of your daughter Debs, although the pay is lousy the profession is priceless and I know she will be a great nurse. I`m glad you enjoyed this one and thank you for your lovely comment.

Love G xx

Gorgeous delivery here G-Girl!!........the near perfect rhythm and timing of this must have taken some time....... because the message is so deliberately striking that it had to take some time to craft this amazing message........ you considered it....... and THEN....... you drove it straight into your readers awareness........ALL STARS.......a strikingly well delivered piece......... love to you and yours my friend........ how I miss you!!......... smiles.........T xo

Hi Beasty,

I`m so glad that you liked this piece my darling, it took about an hour to get it the way I wanted it. I wrote it a while ago, I found it in one of my old notebooks under the bed when I was hoovering!!! I`ve obviously written it one night when I couldn`t sleep!! That`s where the new romantic ones have come from too. They have brought me up to my target of 500 poems at last!!

I`ve missed you very much too sweetie. Why haven`t you been in touch in a private message here or email, you must have lots to tell me about what`s going on with your health and `other` things don`t you??!!!

Can I just ask, when you say about the poem `near perfect rhythm` is there something in it that you`ve spotted for me that doesn`t quite work, I`m asking because I value your opinion and I`m curious, and I want to get it right too. Thank you for that lovely compliment, you`ve got me blushing again.

My youngest daughter Bethica Rose is a nurse who goes to the elderly`s homes to help them and she also works in a home for them too. She sobs her heart out when she loses a patient because she gets so close and attached to them and she has lots of friends who she adores, I often go with her to visit her patients and I always bake them pies, biscuits and cakes and their Sundays and Christmas dinners too.

Thank you again for that lovely compliment and get in touch soon cause` I`ve missed you so much and you know how much I love my Beasty don`t you?!!!

Kisses and hugs

G xx

Hi my dear G,

It's so sad to see their pleading eyes laying helplessly, body deteriorating but brain acute, barely able to speak.  Their eyes are their voice.  They now are the recordings of their past.  Sadly, too soon to close forever.

Hugs, Love and Peace,

xox Larry
