She pounces,
Into the wild side of oncoming traffic
Jetting in and out, never a scratch
Lest' she lose her magic
Or reveal
That hidden sleeping place where she hangs out
Oh my feral feline, doesn't lay about
For in her heart of hearts she knows
She cannot be tamed, harnessed, or earthly bound
She has that ominous inspiration a person finds
In the wildness of her heart....
She comes right up to greet you
But if you dare extend your hand, she WILL bite
To help you understand
You do not have the right to change the magic
Or to find the place she hides
Deep within the forest
Where she governs her own "pride"
And in the occasional moments when
She shows ~ she's a feral feline
My chest pumps up with pride
So proud to call her friend
I just can't wait to see her
In her glory,
Oh so wild,
Again...

yeah T I enjoyed reading this poem very much my friend, very layered....the tone reflects soft and seductive and very powerful at the same time...a poem that speaks of a cat and is also catlike in tone....that is what you call great writing...I inhaled.the movement suspended my disbelief and just floated on the waves of this gorgeous write....and in reading the 'real' comments as well on this one, I found it so cool to see how many places the write took folks....another home run Mr. Taylor...cheers
