FINAL STAND

FINAL STAND

No more love songs
Today it's an early goodbye
Tomorrow it's a loud fight, followed by your silent cry
There's a wind, blowing through still town
Off the lanai, there's a woman's soul on the ground
A black cat, crossing a lucky man
A meek lover, takes a final stand

To who's who, to this song, I write to you
There's a life burning down a clock
This love, I've chanced down this very block
As the woman, the lucky man, our the final stand

If I'm the meek lover
Your the soulless little girl
The Music Mechanic, in an effervescent world
The park where the wind reaches a stand still
The court house that summons me with that support bill
As a black cat crosses my path
Your daddy speaks to his dismay
We've all see that wrath

To who's who, to this song, I write to you
There's a life burning down a clock
This love, I've chanced down this very block
As the woman, the lucky man, our the final stand
