Finding

Finding

Finding.
Lee.

Find a shell upon the shore,
Comb the beach and find some more.
Breeze-on through storm bent grasses,
Appeal to yourself and not the masses.
Drift and dream within a poppy bed,
Remembering words that your father said.
Love for keeps and not for hire,
Covet your heart from the funeral pyre.
Enjoy the chase that freedom brings,
Unlock that door, cut those strings.
Running that mile when a walk would do,
Be there when needed and it’s not about you.
Be charitable, kind, you don’t have to sell,
Tossing hopeful coins in the wishing-well.
Compliments are forever without need for return,
Be humble and listen, you’ve a lot to learn.
Don’t burn bridges when au revoir will do,
But take what’s earned and overdue.
Be cool, be cool, as you’re going through hell,
Make secrets sacrosanct, don’t kiss ‘n’ tell.
Love whom you love with all your might,
Heed patience, patience, when you’re full of spite.
Own your words and the actions you do,
What’s meant is meant and sticks like glue.
Carry the loads your shoulders allow,
Everyone’s a holy cow.
Find the place you deserve to be,
Even if it’s space for just you and me.
Be a villain when you’re left without choice,
Say what’s needed, own your voice.
Glass ceilings are made for you to shatter,
Gossiping bastards will always chatter.
Finding, looking, searching everywhere,
But ask yourself this:
Does anyone truly care?

Well Lee, so much to chew on here, we may have had the exact same childhood perhaps? Wonderful reflection very similar to my own, nosey people well, they surely get their own medicine in the end. đŸŒč

Thank you Shirley. đŸŒșA mini, rhyming rant/beliefs and observations I own. I’d like to think that karma was real, that there was a universal justice, but evidence doesn’t bear that out, but I do hope, especially for those nosey types sat in their ivory towers.đŸŒș
