Finding Euphoria

Finding Euphoria

From a young age we were warned

We were told that drugs lead to forlorn

So we avoided them for as long as we could

But one day we tried them, and it felt good

It was something that helped to take away

All the struggles of our day

Something that we could use to cope

Something that finally gave us some hope

From the beginning we were told

Drugs will keep you from growing old

They stop the pain, so why are they so bad?

“If you smoke weed your mother will be sad”

Yes, that is true, but you, my dear

Soon will learn there’s nothing to fear

These drugs can’t hurt you and soon you’ll see

It’s the people that truly make this world mean

Yes there are things you should evade

Like heroin, meth, and cocaine

But that’s your choice to decide

Whether or not you want to die

But things that don’t really hurt you aren’t so bad

Don’t ever let anyone make you say that

You are free to be your own person

Even if it requires learning a lesson

These people say they’re just showing they care

But that, in itself, is a lie right there

Since your youth you’ve probably known

The world can be heartless, cruel, and cold

But what you don’t know is sometimes it’s hard,

You can’t always see the demons hidden in the dark

For some it’s drugs for others it’s consequences

Regardless, don’t listen to these false pretences

You are your own person, so you get to decide

Every single aspect of your own life

Don’t listen to those that get you down

Stick to your best judgement and your mind will be sound
