Finger Painting Me

I know they say that "less is more"

But I was born a Romantic with a Baroque-cosmipolitan taste

I love the richness of gawdy decor and lavishly patterned fabric

And can't allow aesthetic pieces to go to futile waste

In the area of connoisseur I am a fussion tragic

For time I set aside blank hours, prefer a slower pace

Availability equals possibility, for unplanned living magic

And time itself is the gift; we're not rats in a race

Delight depends on one's penchants and metabolic

You'd be surprised what stories can fit into grace

From student to saint to alcoholic

I see life as a tapestry woven in many layers

Prefer elaborate orchestra to a lone guitar

Everything can be mended with earnest prayers

So long as you drive the right existential car

The point of failure is known to fine players

They stop and start yet travel ever far

Yes the finest wines have been drunk by friars

And you'll find Muslim men at the bar

Don't trust any seedy deniers

Religionists and Atheists are on the same par

.

If it wasn't for Mercy and Blessing

That rains on the devil's seed too

The stories of rapturous redemption

Would be overwhelmingly few

.

I'm not saying transgression is needed

No it's not that, not at all

But longsuffering our Lord has succeeded

To retrieve many souls from The Fall

He's done so with sophistication

Carried the sheep in destress

And woven their stories into his sore side

With flawless and unmatched finesse
