Poem -

First fight

I don't know what it was caused by.
Was it I?
Was it he?
Was it her?
It will remain a mystery.
Starting with a low growl the screams
increased.
I now feel like I am at fault.
I hear rumbles up the stairs while I drown
inside with guilt.
I give my final farewell for the day to fall
into unconsciousness.
As I prepare for the night an apology falls
from her heart to my feet.
While I lay motionless looking through
myself screams still fill the air.
I now plummet from the day behind me.
I think not of the past but of the future I
will encounter.
