FIVE SECONDS OF GRACE

What do you see
When you look at me
What comes to mind
In that moment and time
Are you ecstatic with our first encounter
Or do you feel as though
You've made a blunder
Never before have I passed your way
My arrival should be greeted
As the dawning of a new day
But it only took you five seconds
To summarize my life
And why lean on assumptions
When you are blind to what's inside
Do you think of eternity
When thinking of me
As one who possesses
Wisdom and integrity
Looks can be deceiving
To a closed mind
And to judge without knowledge
Is the ultimate crime.

I like you flow and how you sometimes rhyme,
you have a natural talent, you should think
about writing a book of poetry. With poems
like this I think your book would shine.
