Five Years Ago Today

We look at this priceless photograph, taken “Five Years Ago Today”;
From a time of greatest happiness, our Nico and Cody hard at play!
We were at their Veterinarian, who threw a gala Halloween fete;
For all her faithful clients, and their most beloved pets!

Each one had their photo taken, dressed up in some costume;
Mommy decided that you’d be Doctors, and in the camera zoomed!
You were sitting atop a Pumpkin Patch, and smiled so preciously;
To show how very happy you were, for all those there to see!

Then we went out to the parking lot, roped off for this important bash;
You met lots of other doggies, then round and round you dashed!
There were several treats for all of you, bottled water to quench your thirst;
The DJ held a twist contest, Mommy and I came in first!

It lasted for two hours, then homeward bound we sped;
Our two babies were exhausted, and went directly to their beds!
We never will forget this day, of pure happiness and joy;
Just one of countless others, we spent with our little boys!
