I am in love with an addict, I myself am an addict

Her drug of choice, heroin, my drug of choice is her

I fought this battle everyday thinking I could save her

I lost the battle and myself

Everything I did, all the bad I have done

My only thought, I can save her, I love her

I have hurt so many people in my life

I have lost everything

I enabled her, I helped her

I watched her stick that needle in her arm

One minute out of control, mean and abusive

The next calm and tranquil

She loves me she loves me not

I let her manipulate me, giving in to her desire

She died in my arms today
