Folklore and Fairytales 🧚♀️🧚
Please fragile Fairy don’t you fly away
I swear I’d never hurt you, I just wanna watch you play
At the bottom of my garden there is a cherry tree
I shall sit silently behind my hollyhocks and look and listen furtively
I must seem like a gigantic ogre, a frightening, man-eating troll
But trust me I am just the same as you, I would never hurt a living soul
So can I listen to your stories if I promise not to speak
I can easily stay hidden though at times I may take a peek
I realise that we are different, yet we share the same fresh air
Oh how I wish I was a pixie, I could comb your long, blonde hair
You have listened to my desires, I’d love to watch you everyday
Tell your friends that they can trust me from over the hills and faraway
I’ve always loved folklore and fairytales, but then again I do believe
I saw good old Santa Claus with Rudolph flying by on Christmas eve
If only everybody opened their eyes and looked around
Then the mundane would be magical with all the folklore that they’d found..
