Follow Suit

Throw down,
What's been played,
Showdown,
It's all the same.

So follow,
Or suit yourself,
Nervously swallow,
Hidden talents wither on the back shelf.

While sweating,
Shared similar fates,
Fifty fifty the odds of betting,
The unturned card awaits.

Give me a bluff i'll tell you a lie,
Pay to see what you got,
All in do or die,
Rising emotions hyped up only to split a pot.

I wrote this thinking about my dad he's a huge poker player and he dreams of playing in vegas i came up with the title and my intentions were not about making this poem about poker somehow it just came out that way like it was meant to be. Thanks Tony i have to check out your latest blog been so busy at work.
