Following Footsteps 💕
We walked those pavements from our past, where people traced those tracks before
Opening and closing our history after us, as we walked through yet another door
And I bet the carpet could tell such tall tales, from when it was first fitted on that floor
Just imagine all of those unfamiliar faces, from foreign places that have trod on it galore
So we follow those footsteps from Oh so long ago
We are all just like those granules of grain, that scatter on that sandy shore
Footprints that are washed up from the salty water on the edges of the ocean, with that ebbing of the flow
Blustering in the gentle breezes, from yon westerly winds that blow
So where’re we wander and whatever we do
Perhaps we were solitary strolling from a lover’s liaison, out on a secret rendezvous
Making magical memories to last an entire lifetime through
Standing on the very spot, where others will have stood so many times, tho we wouldn’t have a clue…

Wow Jill you highlight the hidden significance of the value of memories and that we really should try and share as many as possible. How many feet have stood in one place, and what lives did they live and witness. Wonderful reminder of the importance of remembrance 🌻xx
