Football and Children

Football and children, a match to behold.
Playing and smiling, not being controlled.
Freedom to run, no care in the mind.
My passion for life, is these two combined.

Sit back and watch, a child with a ball.
No matter how big, no matter how small.
The shortest of short, incredibly tall.
Enjoyment is endless and open to all.

As that child grows, they then join a team.
Making new friends and building esteem.
Learning an art, gaining a goal.
Sport can be used, for cleansing the soul.

Sport can bring pressure, the passion to win.
But playing a game, should be done with a grin.
Don't lose enjoyment, don't lose the fun.
Encourage our children, especially when young.

So this is a message, spread it aloud.
Nurture the player, don't follow the crowd.
Winning feels good but if you're allowed.
Losing a game, can also feel proud.

Let our kids play, laughing is key.
Learning is easy when covered in glee.
A journey can happen, when pushed the right way.
Encourage fun, that's all I can say.
