For Daddy

For Daddy

Weep not for him, for he has faded away
And his body has laid to rest
But his soul is here to stay
Just look through to my heart
You will see him there
It was so very hard at first
I was only fifteen and had to grow up so fast
Now it is starting to drift away
On days I thought I couldn't move on
I felt his presence lingering there
Daddy, Why did you do that?
You left us all alone
Just took your life at twenty-eight
And made us make a life without you
What was going through your mind?
This we will never know
You should have thought what it would do to us
So weep not for him, for he is no longer here
His body has laid to rest
And our pain is fading away
