For Dear Life

I know that I'm a challenge 
And that I prove it day by day
Actively I'm trying to manage 
And edit the things I say 

Not part of me of which I'm proud 
Infact, far from my favorite trait 
Pulling back on opinions, coming off less loud
Unless it's already too late?

I will keep working, keep trying 
To be to you more respectful 
So please don't ever start denying
That us together holds much potential 

Cuz in you I have found this flavor 
That's never touched my tongue in the past 
And it's a taste that I'd like to savor 
Also make it forever last

Says a lot with what you tolerate 
And your patients blows my mind
Not even a topic for debate 
Know within no one else this I'll find

So thanks for hangin' in there
Alongside this mess that is me 
Prove you're brave, many wouldn't dare 
But face regret cuz I'm worth it ...
